Why penguins? It's a long story....Basically, the talk of penguins as fodder originated with GWers Tame and ShadowMa'at on Shadow's thread as they discussed ways to get the TPTB's attention. Tame nixed Shadow's idea of lobbing kittens, so then Shadow suggested penguins, and Tame brought the idea over to the Ship thread. It was there that Michelleb, I believe, started the call for a trip to see TPTB. That sparked an idea in my head and I posted graphics calling for the launching of flaming penguins over the walls of Bridge Studios (see pix below of the first penguins sacrificed for the cause - may they rest in peace). Astronomicalchick took such a liking to my graphics that she sported them as her sig for a while...More talk of penguins and the posting of penguin pictures ensued...

And that's how the Shipper Penguins began...

It's my theory that those Ancient 'jellyfish' things that Jack released in Antarctica to defeat Anubis were actually penguin ghosts...
